Our medical advisors have let us know it is too early to start decreasing mitigating measures, especially with the new strands that have been identified. Please be intentional with all day to day activities, social distance by more than 6 ft., wash hands frequently, wear a mask and stay home when you are sick.
- 14 Day PTR: 11.6% (orange zone and a decrease)

For the week of February 15, grades 6-12 will remain in Hybrid Learning with the schedule below. Grades PK-5 will transition to ORANGE gating criteria guidelines. This will impact lunch and recess protocols. (see attached Gating Criteria)
Lunches will continue to be made available to students that are at home learning or quarantined students. It really helps our budget if these lunches are utilized. To help our cooks prepare the correct amount of food, please fill out this link:
If we stay in the ORANGE ZONE for another week and Buhler COVID numbers stay low, all Buhler USD #313 in grades 6-12 will return daily to in-person instruction Monday, March 1st. This change could affect bus rider pick up times. If so, they will be contacted by their driver.
From Reno County Health Department:
Phase 2 Vaccinations began on 1/21/20 with the following guidance and recommendations of the Reno County Medical Collaborative:
2a: Persons Aged 65+ (12,331 individuals)
2b: Persons in Group Quarters/Congregate Living (2,526 individuals)
2c: High Contact Critical Workers (7,117 individuals)
We have received 3100 doses total in Reno County for this phase that includes over 21,000 people. Because of the limited supply, the John Hopkins risk score, along with the stringent advice of clinicians, are being utilized to identify those at highest risk. Phase 2 individuals have been offered a pre-registration link to allow for all people over the age of 65 to sign up for the vaccine. The list is then utilized to take the highest risk individuals to receive the vaccine by appointment only, in order to social distance and avoid long wait times. The goal is to efficiently administer all doses received each week. Follow the Reno County website for weekly updates that will include vaccine supply numbers and scheduling information. www.renogov.org/741/COVID-19.
Please encourage your teachers, parents, students and their grandparents that live in Reno County to be tested at the Free Community Testing Events. Log on to https://www.gogettested.com/ for more information and directions as to how to sign up. Health Order 21-01 has been put into place, to extend Amended Health Order 20-05 due to our high case count, high PTR and Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Covid-19 increased cases. The order limits mass gatherings to “10” people, this does not include public and private business/school functions. However, social distancing of more than 6’ is highly recommended at work, and mandated at sporting events and social functions. A community effort is needed to decrease the COVID-19 cases in Reno County and get our kids to in-person school settings. A Mask Mandate is in place by Governor Kelly, Reno County follows this mandate.
