The Buhler USD 313 Education Foundation 313 Mini Grants provide resources and support to classroom teachers for specific projects that cannot otherwise be funded by school district resources.
Each grant is not to exceed $313. The program funded by the grant must be classroom-based and under the direction of a Buhler USD 313 classroom teacher or special education teacher assigned to a Buhler USD 313 classroom.
Mini Grant Recipients
The recipients of the 2015-2016 Buhler USD 313 Education Foundation Classroom Mini Grants (in no particular order) are:
Victor Wilkinson, PHMS Science
"Stack & Grow"
Mr. Wilkinson plans to construct an area for plant growth that will include 4 levels of highly-lit growing space.
Dustin Hildebrand, BHS Algebra
“Algebra Scientific Calculators”
Mr. Hildebrand plans to purchase scientific calculators to have available for Algebra students, so that everyone is using the same one with the same functions at the same time.
Kelley Whisler, BHS 10-12 Science
“Science Department Electronic Balance”
Mrs. Whisler plans to purchase an additional electronic balance for the high school science department.
Vicky Richardson, Plum Creek (1st/2nd)
Mrs. Richardson plans to purchase books to start the Caldecott Club, a reading enrichment program based on Caldecott award winning books.
Audra Reed, UV, Library/Media
“Apple TVs to Enhance Engagement of Learners, Kids & Adults”
Ms. Reed will purchase Apple TVs, to mirror devices, student and teacher, when facilitating lessons during library time.
Carla Goertzen, BGS, 4th grade
Mrs. Goertzen will purchase books that will provide her students with additional exposure to STEM role models, history, professions and hobbies, through a thematic book collection.
Teresa Poulseen, PHMS, 8th grade Science
“I'm Seeing Stars”
Mrs. Poulseen plans to purchase a model orbiter, a star theater, a clever catch ball and star chart notepad for her students to study astronomy in the classroom.
